Novak Djokovic did not start the season as he expected, and the defeats of the last period did not remain without consequences. The leader of the ATP hierarchy announced on Wednesday that he will no longer be coached by Goran Ivanisevic.

Novak Djokovic announced his divorce from coach Goran Ivanisevic

Considered a heavy favorite to win every tournament he enters, Nole (36) has yet to impress in the 2024 season.

At the “home” tournament in Melbourne, he was defeated in the semifinals by Yannick Sinner (recall, Joker has 10 titles at the Australian Open), and in Indian Wells he was sent home in the third round by the unknown Luca Nardi (the Italian was at that time on the 123rd place in the ATP, and entered the main draw as a lucky loser).

After a surprise loss at the tournament in California, Djokovic announced that he will not play in Miami and now announces to his fans about the break with Goran Ivanisevic.

2001 Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic was co-opted into the Nole team in 2019 after previously coaching Marin Cilic (2013-2016), Tomas Berdych (2016-2017) and Milos Raonic (2018-2019).

With Ivanisevic in his box, Joker won important tournaments, titles that lifted the Serb to the top of the most important hierarchies.

Djokovic triumphed together with Ivanisevic in the following competitions: Australian Open (three times), Wimbledon (three times), Roland Garros (twice), US Open (once), as well as seven Masters titles (ATP 1000).
