Angelina Kalinina was defeated on Monday in the 1/8 finals of the WTA tournament in Miami.
The WTA No. 36 lost in straight sets to Yulia Putintseva (WTA No. 68) 6-4, 7-6(5) after a match that ended after two hours and 21 minutes.

In the quarters, the athlete from Kazakhstan will meet the winner of the duel between Victoria Azarenka (32 WTA) and Katie Boulter (30 WTA).
Also on Monday, Olena Rybakina (4 WTA) qualified for the quarterfinals of the tournament in Miami, defeating Madison Keys (17 WTA) in two sets with the score 6-3, 7-5 at the end of the match, which lasted an hour and 24 minutes.

From March 19 to 31, the WTA 1000 category tournament will be held in Miami. Played on hard court, the main draw features 128 players and a total prize pool of $8,995,555. The champion of the overall title is Petra Kvitova (she is pregnant and will not participate in this year’s edition).
