Remaining the only representative of Romania at the “WTA 1000” tournament in Miami, after the departure of Simona Halep, Ana Bohdan and Jacqueline Christian, Sorana Kirstya found out her opponent in the second round.

Sorana Kirstea vs Sloane Stephens in the second round of the WTA in Miami

Admitted to the main draw directly in the second round, Sorana Kirstea (24 WTA) will play a match with American Sloane Stevens (41 WTA).

The 2017 US Open winner Stephens advanced to the first round of Germany’s Angelique Kerber (342 WTA) in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, after an hour and 11 minutes of play.

Sorana Kirstea and Sloane Stephens last met ten days ago in the second round at Indian Wells.

The American moved on after two sets, 6-0, 7-5.
