Carlos Alcaraz defeats Yannick Sinner in Indian Wells 2024 semi-finals

Sinner has been the most in-form men’s player, winning Davis Cup, Australian Open and Rotterdam titles.

After 19 straight wins, the Italian got off to a great start against Alcaraz and won the first set 6-1. With the score 2:1, the game was interrupted for three hours due to rain.

Alcaraz raised the level of his game and without much emotion won the next rounds with a score of 6-3, 6-2. The match lasted two hours and three minutes.

“I stayed mentally strong, and that’s very important. I had to run more, defend better than in the first set. Put more balls in the field. To stay strong on the field” – Carlos Alcaraz.

“That makes things really funny, doesn’t it? Maybe the day will come when one of us wins three or four times in a row. Then the opponent or the other has to try to adapt a bit by trying completely new things. Everything can go completely wrong, lose 6-1 6-1 or whatever. But I think it is good for me and I will try to develop in the future” – Yannik Grishnyk.
