The CFR coach believes that his team deserved more from the game against Olten

CFR Cluj made a poor start to the playoffs and suffered a home defeat to Craiova University at the end of a match that was dominated at the top by the Transylvanians.

Laurence Popescu’s intervention kept Ivaylo Petev’s men in the game, while Bayaram and Mitrice took advantage of some miscommunications in the CFR defence.

At the end of the game, Adrian Mutu was honest and admitted that despite his side dominating the game, they suffered at the end where the history of this duel was written.

“This is football. We didn’t deserve to lose today, but when you play in the playoffs and you have so many chances and you don’t have time to score, football judges you.

I have nothing to complain about the boys, it’s just that they weren’t more focused in front of goal. Matej’s lack of experience shows, but that’s why we’re here to help him grow. That’s the story of this match, we deserved more.

In the second goal phase, there was also luck, the ball bounced off Matei’s hand.

This break helped me, but with those who stayed here, because many go to the national team.

Both for the game and for the attitude, I have nothing to reproach the boys with. I played in the attack, I offered football, but this is a championship where the counterattack, the negative transition are of great importance. We should have been more careful. Both goals could have been avoided, we could have done more.

I think it was a clear penalty for Mogosh, Ivan was following him and did not play the ball. Even if it was 0-2, it was a goal and probably another result.” – said the Transylvanian technician, reports Digi Sport.
