Simona Halep will play on March 19 at WTA Miami – Sorana Kirstea, Ana Bohdan and Jacqueline Christian in the main draw

In addition to Sorana Kirstia (22nd WTA), Ana Bohdan (65th WTA) and Simona Halep (wildcard beneficiary), Romania will also be represented at the tournament in Florida by Jacqueline Christian (82nd WTA).

Christian, who was supposed to play in the qualifiers, entered the main draw after Amanda Anisimova, Marketa Vondrousova (Wimbledon champion), Mirra Andreeva, Karolina Mukhova and Mayar Sherif withdrew from the WTA 1000 competition.

The main draw will take place on Sunday, March 17.

The first round matches will take place on March 19, the day Simona Halep will return to the WTA tournament (after TAS reduced her suspension in a doping case).

There will be 32 players on the seed list and Sorana Kirstya will have a free first round.

The WTA 1000 Miami Open tournament will be held from March 19 to 31. The game will be played on hard surfaces, with 128 players in the main draw and a total prize pool of $8,995,555. The champion of the overall title is Petra Kvitova (she is pregnant and will not participate in this year’s edition).
