Former 2016 world number one Angelique Kerber scored another 7-5, 3-6, 3-6 win over Jelena Ostapenko in the second round of Indian Wells.

Returning to the court after a year and a half break due to pregnancy, Angelique Kerber (607 WTA) won another victory over the tournament favorite at number 10.

After the first set played on counterattacks, Ostapenko won a break before the tiebreak.

However, the next two sets belonged to the former Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open winner, who continues her remarkable streak.

In the first round in Indian Wells, Kerber eliminated Croatia’s Petra Martic (58 WTA) after 6-3, 6-4.

Angelique Kerber faces a match between Nao Hibino (80 WTA) and Veronika Kudermetova (19 WTA) to find out her opponent in the third round.

The BNP Paribas Open is a WTA 1000 tournament that takes place from March 6 to 17. The game is played on a hard surface and the total prize pool is $8,995,555. Titled champion – Olena Rybakina.
