The hosts started the game much better and scored twice through Jacob Schaffelburg (‘4, ’47), but the visitors avoided defeat thanks to goals scored by stars Messi (’51) and Suarez (’90+5).
The second leg will take place next Wednesday at Inter Miami, with the winner advancing to the quarter-finals against the winner of Monterrey and Cincinnati (1-0 in the round).
