
Katie Boulter won the biggest title of her career after defeating Marta Kostiuk in the final act of the WTA 500 in San Diego on Sunday.

The 27-year-old Briton took two hours and 14 minutes to defeat the athlete from Ukraine (6th seed) 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
In San Diego, Katie also defeated Lesya Tsurenko, Beatrice Haddad Maya (2), Donna Vekic (7) and Emma Navarro (3).
Ranked 49th at the start of the competition (she was not seeded), Boulter made a significant jump in the world rankings to 27th (a career best).
During her career, Katie Boulter won only the WTA 250 tournament in Nottingham (2023). Instead, Kostyuk remains with only one title (Austin 2023 – WTA 250).
