LeBron James became the first player in NBA history to score 40,000 points after scoring 26 points for the Los Angeles Lakers in a loss to the Denver Nuggets.

LeBron had another impressive performance on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough for the team to win. Nikola Jokic became the hero of the game for the Denver Nuggets (35 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists), and the current NBA champion won at Crypto.com Arena with a score of 124-114.

At age 39, James scored 40,017 points in the NBA: 23,119 with the Cleveland Cavaliers, 8,979 with the Los Angeles Lakers and 7,919 with the Miami Heat.

In February 2023, James broke the record of the legendary Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,390).
