A man suspected of stealing security plans for the 2024 Olympics was sent to court
The case sparked widespread reaction after a police source said the bag contained a computer and two USB drives with Paris Municipal Police security plans for the Paris Olympics.
The man was detained on Wednesday by investigators of the Regional Transport Security Service (SRT). The decision of the court regarding the charges against him has not been made public, writes L’Equipe.
“The suspect of Moroccan nationality is already known to the police for the theft of luggage at the North Station,” the news agency reported. As BFM TV reports, the bag of this Paris City Hall engineer was found, but without his computer and USB drives.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo has asked the city’s Inspectorate General to investigate these “proven violations of internal security procedures.”
The mayor is considering “sanctions” depending on the conclusions that will be drawn, writes News.ro.
