The 8th seed was defeated in straight sets by Sebastian Baez (21 ATP) with a double 6-4 at the end of the match which lasted one hour and 49 minutes.

Also on Friday, Arthur Fils (44 ATP) eliminated Pedro Martinez (101 ATP).
The Frenchman lost in three sets 3-6, 7-6(5), 2-6 after a match that lasted two hours and 27 minutes.

Sebastian Baez and Pedro Martinez will meet in the semifinals of the tournament.
The Chile Open takes place from February 26 to March 3, 2024 on clay, is part of the ATP 250 category and offers $661,585 in prize money. The titular champions are the Chilean Nicolas Jarry (singles) and the Italians Andrea Pellegrino and Andrea Vavassori (doubles).
