Nelutsu Varga, the patron of CFR Cluj, opened a football school in Burkina Faso on Wednesday, from where he hopes the future stars of the Transylvanian team will emerge.
CFR Cluj has a football academy in Burkina Faso – How much has boss Nelutu Varga invested
Although FCSB owner Gigi Bekali announced that he was opening a school in South Africa, Nelutu Varga took it before him.
Following the model of Emmanuel Yeboa or Lacina Traore, footballers brought for little money from Africa and sold for many millions of euros, the Transylvanians hope to discover talent in Burkina Faso, from where to take a step to the Super League.
CFR Cluj owner Nelutu Varga has invested €700,000 in 51% of the Salitas football academy, which has approximately 600 children.
“I own 51% of the Academy, the remaining 49% is owned by a wonderful person here in Burkina Faso who loves football with the same passion as I do.
We hope to produce players of great value, real gems who, after playing for CFR Cluj, will end up playing for big teams in Europe.
This is an ambitious project that I have dreamed of for a long time, and I am glad that today I took a big step and inaugurated this Academy. An academy that will bring many values to the Romanian championship.
I am convinced that we will produce Champions League players, players of great value who will help us bring as many titles as possible to CFR Cluj in the future.
This is a dream for me, I am very happy and convinced that this is a difficult path that I have taken. It will be a football adventure, the likes of which have probably never happened in Romania before.” – said Nelutu Vargafor Fanatik.
