Nicolae Stanciu says Romania should withdraw from Euro 2024 group

The captain of the national football team, Stanciu, told the quoted source about what it means to qualify for the Euros after years of drought.

“What we achieved last year is something historic because we finished unbeaten. For me, the national team shirt is everything, and the captain’s armband is something indescribable.

It’s hard to say how you feel because you only dream about it, you don’t think when you start football that you can play in the final tournaments for your country.

But I feel fulfilled in every way. It is something unique that will stay with me for the rest of my life.

Our goal for the Euros is to get through the group stage and then we’ll see how things go. This is a realistic goal. The strength of the group is our strength, although I know we repeat ourselves over and over again.

But the biggest asset of the national team is that we are a united and strong group, we all leave everything on the field when we put on the shirt of the first representative. At the Euro, all groups are tough and balanced, not only ours,” he said Mykola Stanchu for FRF TV.

At the age of 30, Stanciu currently plays for Damac and during his career he also played for Uniria Alba Iulia, FC Vaslui, FCSB, Anderlecht, Sparta Prague, Al Ahly , “Slavia” Prague and “Wuhan Three Towns”.

He has 66 matches for the first national team of Romania and scored 14 goals.
