​Yannik Sinner was given a tough test by Milos Raonic, but the Italian advanced to the semi-finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Rotterdam after the Canadian was injured early in the second set.

Australian Open 2024 champion Sinner (4 ATP) broke first, but was unable to secure it and had to save two set points (4-5 and 15-40). Yannick won the tiebreak 7-4.

Milos, who is ranked 309 in the world, was injured early in the second set and ended his career with a score of 1:1.

This is the second match this year in which Raonic has to play, after the first round of the Australian Open (1-1 in sets with Alex De Minaur).

• Yannick Sinner will face Tallon Grikspoor (29 ATP) in the semi-finals after the home favorite beat Finland’s Emil Ruusuvuori (55 ATP) 7-5, 7-6(4).

• Yannick became the first player of the Italian Open era to win his first 10 matches of a season since Nicola Pietrangeli in 1968.

• Milos Raonic’s highest ATP ranking was No. 3 (November 2016) and he played in a Grand Slam final (Wimbledon 2016).

ABN AMRO Open 2024 will be held from February 12 to 18. The tournament takes place in Rotterdam on hard, is part of the “ATP 500” category and offers a total prize money of 2,134,985 euros. The title champion is Daniil Medvedev.
