Australian Open 2024 champion Sinner (4 ATP) broke first, but was unable to secure it and had to save two set points (4-5 and 15-40). Yannick won the tiebreak 7-4.
Milos, who is ranked 309 in the world, was injured early in the second set and ended his career with a score of 1:1.
This is the second match this year in which Raonic has to play, after the first round of the Australian Open (1-1 in sets with Alex De Minaur).
