Former rivals Sepsi Bodo/Glimt came close to pulling off an upset at Ajax Amsterdam, but the Dutch salvaged a 2-2 draw after two extra-time goals.

Bodo/Glimt has had an excellent course this season, single-handedly leading the Norwegian Championship.

By beating Sepsi in the playoffs, Bodo/Glimt got out of the groups and came close to a big win in Holland.

Gronbeek’s goal in the 16th and 64th minutes looked to have wrapped up the game, but the Dutch reduced the deficit in the first minute of added time thanks to Van den Boomen’s 11-yard strike.

Outnumbered, the Norwegians did not resist, and in the seventh additional minute, Berghuis equalized the score.

Another contender for the trophy, Betis Sevilla, lost 1-0 at home to Croatian Dynamo Zagreb after Petkovic scored in the 76th minute.

The return matches will take place in a week.
