A month ago, former manager Sven Goran Eriksson announced that he had at most a year to live and that he regretted not being on the Liverpool bench. Now his dream will come true.

Terminally ill with cancer, former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson will sit on the Liverpool legends bench alongside Ian Rush, John Barnes and Robbie Fowler, the Daily Mail reports.
The 76-year-old Swede revealed in January that he had just a year left to live in the “best-case scenario” and revealed how one of his few regrets is not coaching the team he supported since his childhood at Anfield.
The fans have responded strongly and the manager will join former Liverpool stars in a charity match against Ajax on March 23.
“This has always been my dream. I am not complaining, I had many good teams, national and club. I’m still happy,” said Eriksson, who was happy to accept Liverpool’s offer.
“Everyone associated with the club and the LFC Foundation is looking forward to welcoming fan Sven and his family to Anfield and seeing him at work on the day,” the club said.
