Beatrice Haddad Maia (14 WTA) was defeated in the first round of the WTA tournament in Doha.

The player from Brazil was defeated by Sinha Wang (41 WTA) with a score of 6-1, 6-3 after a match that lasted an hour and 10 minutes.

In the next round, she will meet Victoria Azarenka (31 WTA), who beat Magdalena Frech (52 WTA) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.

Caroline Garcia (21st WTA) was also eliminated on Monday.

The Hexagon athlete was defeated in straight sets by former WTA number one Naomi Osaka (747 WTA) at the end of the match, which lasted one hour and 29 minutes and ended with a score of 7-5, 6-4.
