​Emma Reducanu crashed out in the second round of the WTA Abu Dhabi tournament after losing in straight sets to Ons Jaber 6-4, 6-1.

Emma Reducanu, second round loss in Abu Dhabi to Ons Jaber

Emma Reducanu, who recently returned to the WTA, only made it to the second round at the Abu Dhabi tournament.

The athlete from Great Britain suffered a convincing defeat from Ons Jabert (6 WTA), after a match that lasted one hour and 18 minutes.

The Grand Slam winner had no chance against the WTA Top 10 player, who had only lost 5 games.

In the quarters, Jaber will face Beatrice Haddad Maia (13 WTA), who reached the quarters thanks to a win over Magda Lynette (55 WTA), score 7-6(6), (1)6-7, 6-1.

The Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open takes place from February 5 to 11 on hard, is part of the WTA 500 category, has a total prize pool of $922,573, and the title champion is Belinda Bencic (2023).

The main favorites from Abu Dhabi are Olena Rybakina (1), Ons Jaber (2), Maria Sakkari (3, eliminated) and Barbora Krejchikova.
