>> Mercedes options to replace Lewis Hamilton – there is no shortage of surprises

Shares of the Italian luxury car maker hit a record high of $389.45 by the close of trading on Wall Street Thursday night, up 13% from Wednesday, Agerpres reported.

The positive outlook of the Maranello group also contributed to the increase in the value of its shares on both the Milan and New York stock exchanges.

However, the announcement that Hamilton will drive the Italian single-seater from 2025 underpinned a strong jump in Ferrari shares on Thursday, DPA said.

At the age of 39, Hamilton surprised the Formula 1 world by switching to rival Ferrari after 11 successful years driving a Mercedes single-seater.

At Scuderia Ferrari, Lewis will be teammates with Monegasque Charles Leclerc.

We remind you that in the eternal ranking of Formula 1 champions, Lewis Hamilton is currently in first place, sharing it with the legendary Michael Schumacher (both have 7 world championship titles).

Michael Schumacher triumphed in the seasons of 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004, and Lewis Hamilton became world champion in 2008, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
