Olena Ostapenko advanced to the quarter-finals of the WTA tournament in Linz on Thursday night with a three-set victory over Clara Toson 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(7).

Olena Ostapenko respected her status as a favorite in the 1/8 finals of the WTA tournament in Linz and defeated Denmark’s Klara Towson (91 WTA).

Ranked 12th in the WTA rankings, the top favorite needed two hours and 23 minutes to reach the quarter-finals, needing a deciding set.

Olena Ostapenko also missed two match points before winning the tiebreak.

In the quarters, she will meet Jodi Burrage (102 WTA), who defeated Jacqueline Christian in the 1/8 finals with the score 6-3, 7-6(5).

The Upper Austria Ladies Linz is part of the WTA 500 category and runs from January 29 to February 4 on hard, offering a total prize pool of $922,573. Titled champion (since 2023) – Anastasia Potapova.
