Salernitana, the bottom-placed side in Italy’s top flight, are in talks with the former Germany international who won the 2014 World Cup.

Jerome Boateng is close to signing a contract with Salernitana.

Salernitana are in last place in Serie A with 12 points from 21 stages and stay in the first league is in question.

Filippo Inzaghi’s side are on a 3-game losing streak in Serie A and were also knocked out of the Coppa Italia 6-1 by Juventus.

The team is definitely in need of reinforcements, and Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Salernitana are very close to signing 35-year-old former Germany international Jerome Boateng.

Boateng has been out of contract since leaving Lyon and has played for Hertha Berlin, Hamburg, Manchester City and Bayern Munich in his career.

In addition, Boateng won, in particular, the 2014 World Cup together with the German national team, for which he played no less than 76 matches.
