Cluj University moved into the play-off spot with a 2-1 home win over Germannstadt on Saturday in Round 22 of the Romanian Super League.

University of Cluj – Germanstadt 2-1

The University of Cluj started 2024 on the right foot by defeating Hermannstadt in a match played at the Cluj Arena.

The first half was quite balanced, but the guests broke the ice in the second half when Murgia managed to score from a pass by Paraskiv (min. 62).

The team coached by Ioan Ovidiu Sabau responded in the 65th minute, when Alexandru Chipcu beat the opponent’s goalkeeper with a shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Daniel Popa from Dan Nistor’s pass established the final score of the game (min. 79).
