​Jacqueline Christian was eliminated in the first round of the “WTA 250” competition in Oakland, our athlete was defeated in three sets by Xiu Wang with the score of 6-1, 5-7, 7-6(3).

The Chinese player (71 WTA) started the game much better and won the first set 6-1, but Jacqueline (87 WTA) won the return match in extra time 7-5.

In the deciding set, Wang led 4-1, Christian recovered the break and saved his opponent a match point at 6-5. The Romanian led 3-1 in the tiebreak, but lost the next six points.

The match lasted two hours and 50 minutes.
