Outnumbered, Al Ahly scored three times before the break through Kartabiya twice and Al Ghassani to turn the tide of the match.
Al Ahli scored three more goals in the second half with Mateusão, Suhail and Jury scoring as Al Sharjah ended the game two men down, with Kayo also seeing red in extra time.
