The UAE Super Cup match between Al Ahly Dubai and Al Sharjah got off to the best possible start for Cosmin Olero’s side.

Kamara in the 8th minute and Marega in the 26th put Al Sharjah ahead but the balance was broken in the 32nd minute when Salim Ali was sent off.

Outnumbered, Al Ahly scored three times before the break through Kartabiya twice and Al Ghassani to turn the tide of the match.

Al Ahli scored three more goals in the second half with Mateusão, Suhail and Jury scoring as Al Sharjah ended the game two men down, with Kayo also seeing red in extra time.

Cosmin Olerou, who has been on the Emirates bench since 2021, has won two President’s Cups, a Super Cup and a League Cup with Al Sharjah.
