Kirstia made a great debut at the tournament in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) and won the mixed doubles match, in which she beat the American Taylor Fritz: 6-2 against Hubert Hurkacz / Caroline Garcia (Poland / France).
Together with Olena Rybakina, Sorana beat the last winners of the Tournament of Champions — Igo Svyatek and Karolin Garcia — with a score of 6:4.
Kasper Ruud defeated Taylor Fritz 6-1, and Iga Sviatek won the match against Elena Rybakina 6-4, but the Kazakh took revenge in a “shoot-out” (tie-break match – the first to 9 points) and posted 10 – 8 in front of Poland.
Also on Thursday, the Kites beat the Eagles 27-22.
