Marko Dugandžić (29 years old) was chosen as the “Best Foreign Player” in the traditional poll of Gazeta Sporturilor. In an exclusive interview with GSP.ro, the Croatian forward talks about life in Saudi Arabia and how he adapted there after moving to Al Tay. Dugandzic has already managed to play against Cristiano Ronaldo and shows that he had problems there, in particular with food.
“In general, life is very different. Culture, lifestyle, everything else. As for the players, the first match I played with Al Nassr, when I was next to Ronaldo on the pitch, I couldn’t believe what was happening! You watch him all your life on TV,” Dugandzic says.
The striker also talks about what made him smile the biggest in Saudi Arabia.
“The first thing that comes to my mind is how I sleep. Usually 9 or 10 months out of 12 are extremely hot, so they sleep during the day and stay awake at night. I think around 5:00am they have a prayer period, then they go to bed, around 5:30-6am, and sleep until about 4-5pm. Let’s say it was the biggest surprise for me,” says the Croat.
