Tadej Pohakar (UAE) is the highest paid cyclist at the moment, the Slovenian earns 6 million euros per year. Rounding out the world’s highest-paid road cyclists are two athletes from Ineos, a team fighting to return to the forefront of world cycling.
Tadei Pohachar, the biggest salary – Jonas Vingehor, only by six
Winner of the Tour de France in 2020 and 2021, the Slovenian earns the highest salary on the world circuit. We are talking about six million euros, which are poured annually into his accounts in the UAE.
Pogacar (25) recently announced that he will also be taking part in Il Giro (Tour of Italy – 2024 edition), making it a very busy 2024 season for the Slovenian – but no doubt the big aim will be to bring the trophy back to Le Tour.
Although they don’t have the results they used to, Ineos (formerly Sky Team) have the second and third highest salaries in cycling.
We are talking about Tom Pidcock (24) and veteran Geraint Thomas (37).
Cycling fans also know Tom from cyclocross (he’s the 2022 world champion) and not just from Grand Tours. The Englishman receives 4 million euros from Ineos.
Geraint Thomas also earns a solid salary from Ineos, with the Welsh veteran earning €3.5 million a year.
It is interesting that Jumbo-Wisma (a team that has authoritatively dominated the last few years in cycling) does not have a rider in the TOP-3, and the first in the hierarchy is Jonas Wingegard – in 5th place, with a salary of 2.5 million euros.
The Dane is none other than the winner of the last two editions of the Tour de France (2022, 2023).
According to cyclinguptodate.com with reference to Gazzetta dello Sport, the best cyclists with the highest salaries.
