Alcaraz, Medvedev, Sinner and Wawrinka will debut in the new season at the Australian Open

While most players play smaller tournaments to familiarize themselves with the fast courts and conditions in Australia, four big names in the ATP decided to make their debut directly at the first Grand Slam of the year.

As a result, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Yannick Sinner and Stan Wawrinka will not play in any tournament until the major tournament in Melbourne.

The Spaniard will play an exhibition match against Novak Djokovic in Riyadh (December 27), the Russian and Italian will take more time off after a busy 2023 season, and the Swiss does not want to accumulate too many tournaments at the age of 38, Punto Break reports.

The 2024 Australian Open will be held from January 14 to 28. The reigning champions are Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenko.
