
Luca Bresel (reigning world champion) and Mark Selby (four-time world champion) exited the Scottish Open on Wednesday after shock defeats to Martin O’Donnell and Matthew Celt respectively.

Bresel, who won his first world title immediately after the Selby final, lost 4-2 to Martin O’Donnell (80th).
O’Donnell will face Tom Ford (18th) in the last 16 after the Englishman edged China’s Ding Junhui (11th / 2016 World Runner-up) 4-3.
2014, 2016, 2017 and 2021 world champion Mark Selby (ranked 5) was defeated by compatriot Matthew Selt (ranked 30) 4-3.
Also on Wednesday, Dominic Dale beat Jamie Jones 4-3 after a very good last red ball.

A semi-final appearance is worth £17,500, with the finalist receiving £35,000 and the grand champion £80,000.
