David Popovich is convinced that his turn to win a gold medal will come

On Saturday, David Popovici finished the 200m freestyle final in 4th place, but took revenge on Sunday in the 100m freestyle final, where he managed to take bronze.

In the pool from Otopeni, the CS Dinamo Bucharest registered athlete had a bad start to the race, but made a great recovery on the last lap to complete the podium.

In the end, the Romanian said he was satisfied with the results obtained at the European Short Course Swimming Championships in Otopeni and made a promise to his rivals.

“There were many waves. This is something I laughed about with some of the swimmers. With the English and the Portuguese. There were waves, but it was beautiful. It was a fast race and I’m glad I managed to get on the podium.

That’s all I managed today, and still the Italian and the French are better than me. They also beat me at the World Short Course Championships. But luckily there will be plenty of competition and I can’t wait to be out there in front of them when the time comes.

The audience, as always, is great! I mean, I said it yesterday too, I think every athlete dreams of competing at home and having that many fans. I’m glad, I hope that happy people also left yesterday, because I, for one, left happy last night. Even though I didn’t manage to get on the podium, I managed to have a very good time, which I’m happy with. It’s a sport, sometimes you win, sometimes you learn!” – said David Popovici, as.ro reports.
