Romanian coach Cosmin Olerou and his Al Sharjah team were one step away from qualifying for the play-offs of the Asian Champions League, but suffered a dramatic 2-1 loss to Jordan’s Al-Faisali Amman.

Al Sharjah exit AFC Champions League – Two-elimination match for Cosmin Olera

In the last group game, Al-Sharjah won against Al-Faisal from the 34th minute, and in the other group game, the leader of Uzbekistan, Nasaf Karshi, led Al-Sadd.

The end of both games was dramatic, with Nasaf Karshi breaking the deadlock, and the Qataris from Al-Sadd tied the score 2-2 in extra time.

And the Jordanian team managed to fight back, first equalizing in the 90th minute to strike in the seventh minute of overtime.

Nerves were stretched to the maximum, and Kosmin Olero’s team ended the game with two minuses, after the removal of Rashid and Pjanic.

Following the results of the last group stage, Al Sharjah dropped to third place with eight points, five behind leaders Nasaf Karshi, who qualified for the playoffs of the Asian Champions League.
