Bayern Munich and Union Berlin were supposed to play on Saturday in the 13th round of the Bundesliga, but the match was postponed due to heavy snow in Bavaria, writes AFP.
Bayern Munich – Union Berlin, postponed due to heavy snow
This was reported by the Munich public transport company (MVG).
“Dear passengers, today’s soccer match between Bayern Munich and Union Berlin at 15:30 (16:30 Romanian time) at Frettmanning has been cancelled,” MVG said.
The German Football League (DFL) confirmed the postponement, saying that Allianz Arena’s owner had “closed access to the stadium due to heavy and prolonged snow”.
The new date of the match has not yet been announced.
In the night from Friday to Saturday, it snowed heavily in Munich, the layer of snow reached several tens of centimeters.
Snowfall in southern Bavaria led to a sharp reduction in rail traffic. “Due to heavy snowfall today, there will probably be no flights until noon,” Munich Airport announced on its website, according to News.ro.
I’m surprised that Bayern vs. Union Berlin won’t take place today. In Munich, it’s snow madness today. There are currently no flights, no trains. Even the guys from the newspaper didn’t show up. pic.twitter.com/X8RpWE0Vpl
