Željko Kopić’s goal in “Dynamo”: “The team will remain in the first league”

Dynamo are second to last in the Superliga standings with just 10 points, but Kopic says he will do everything possible to keep the team in Romania’s top flight.

“Among the most important aspects that made me accept this job was the fact that from the first contact with the management of the club I felt this energy and determination in the club.

For me, Dinamo Bucharest is an important club with an important history for the fans. For me it is a responsibility to be here. On the other hand, it is very important for me to change something for the better in the team as soon as possible.

The team had a lot going on with the previous coach. I will use all my energy and all my knowledge to bring the team to a new level, improve the quality of the game and have a clear strategy for Dinamo Bucharest.

Even if the team is currently going through a bad period, I believe that it is an honor for any coach to coach Dynamo. For everyone who works in football. I will give everything for this club.

I can’t do miracles, I’m not a magician, but every Dynamo fan should be sure that from now on the most important thing for me is that Dynamo stays in the first league. This is my only goal in the next period” – Zhelko Kopychat a press conference quoted by Agerpres.

Rescuer Željko Kopić: “I had similar situations before, and I reached the middle of the rating”

The Croatian technician clarified that in his career he faced similar situations when he led teams at the bottom of the ranking and managed to save them from relegation.

“We had similar situations as in Dynamo, when the teams were in the last places in the rating. We managed to reach the middle of the ranking then, and I will do my best to do the same with Dynamo.

I saw several matches of the domestic championship with Dynamo. I know that “Dynamo” is suffering now, we must try to change the situation for the better. After I contact the players, I will be able to form my opinion about them. I haven’t spoken to Ovidiu Burke about the players yet, but I will try to contact him. I respect his work and the work of everyone in the club at the moment,” – Zhelko Kopych.

Željko Kopić: “We can’t change much before the Sepsi match”

On Monday at 20:00, Dynamo will meet Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe as part of the 18th stage of the Super League. Kopic said that the match is his priority and during the winter break he will have time to evaluate the group of players.

“On Monday we have the first match, until then we can’t change much. I understand that some players have problems. I expect the players to give their all, we won’t have time to change the tactical part.

I understand the current situation in “Dynamo”, and it is not at all comfortable to have 11 games without a win. The most important thing is that at this moment we are changing something in the mentality of the players.

I know Sepsi also has a new coach, but we won’t have much time to prepare for the match, we will do our best in these two days. We will still have time to talk about transfers.

For now, I want to see the reaction of the players to the next matches, let’s talk with the club management, analyze and decide together what is best for the club, because Dynamo is in the first place” – Zhelko Kopych.

Who is Zeljko Kopich, the new coach of “Dynamo”.

“Željko was on his first adventure at a big club and went on to become Slaven Belupo’s longest-serving coach in the club’s 110-year history, reaching the final of the Croatian Cup in 2015-2016, one of the best results in the club’s history. Then, in the 2017-2018 season, he moved to Hajduk Split, which he, in turn, led to the Cup final. In 2018, he took charge of Paphos Football Club in the Cypriot Premier League, where he was highly praised, won the Coach of the Month award and won big against big clubs such as Apoel, Omonia and AEK.

After returning to Croatia, he became the director of the academy of Dinamo Zagreb, one of the most productive football schools in the world. In December 2021, he was chosen as the manager of Dinamo Zagreb, where he won 7 consecutive games in the Croatian NL and scored an outstanding victory over West Ham, the first ever for a Croatian club against an English club on a British pitch. . He also beat Sevilla in the Europa League playoffs. According to the results of that season, Zagreb “Dynamo” won the Croatian championship.

He spent only a few months at Botev Plovdiv, taking the team from last place and righting the ship, leaving the club in 10th place, showing very good performance in his short time there.

As a former director of the Academy, Željko has left his mark on many clubs, identifying young talents who, in his opinion, should be promoted to the big team, while also being a highly developed methodologist” – Dynamo Bucharest.
