Liviu Ciobotariu has been sacked by Sepsi Sfantu Gheorghe and in recent days has been rumored to become Dynamo’s coach after the Bucharest outfit parted ways with Ovidiu Burke.
>> The coach who refused “Dynamo”: “I was not afraid of a difficult situation”
Liviu Chobotariu says that he will not be the new coach of “Dynamo”.
The 52-year-old technician says he has not discussed with Stefan cel Mare’s team and says he has an offer from abroad.
“I came to Bucharest, but I am close to Dynamo, as well as to Saint George.” I mean, not even 1% of my name was discussed in Dynamo. At least as far as I know.
And I’m not saying that to say, but I clicked! Because you can’t use my name and imply that it was arranged with me, because that’s not true.
I mean, would I lie to Mr. Dioseghi (not Patronus Sepsi) too?! I was at Sepsi and talked to Dynamo or someone else? Lie, I’m not like that!
I don’t want the world to get the impression that Dynamo gave me 3 lei, I asked for 4, and we didn’t understand. If it was something, I would recognize it.
There is indeed interest from abroad, I am waiting to see if something will come of it, because there is a long distance from the intention to the signature.
Otherwise, if we’re talking about Dynamo, I wish them luck there! May their plan to save the team succeed!” – Liviu Chobotariureports DigiSport.
Chobotariu spent 26 matches on Sepsi’s bench and scored 9 wins, 8 draws and 9 losses (goal difference 33-28).
It made it all the way to the Conference League playoffs (they were dramatically beaten by Bodo/Glimt after extra time), but the team has already exited the Romanian Cup and is five points behind the Superliga playoffs.
Meanwhile, Sepsi was headed by the German Bernd Stork, the former coach of the Hungarian national team.
