Milos Raonic outlasted Patrik Kaukovalt, 6-3, 7-5, to give Canada its first point.

Otto Virtanen restored the tie, defeating Gabriel Diallo 6-4, 7-5.

Finally, the double of Harri Heliovaara / Otto Virtanen brought the decisive point to the Finns: 7-5, 6-3 against the pair of Alexis Galarno / Vasek Pospisil.

They will also play in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup
