The winner of three Grand Slam tournaments, Murray, suffered a shoulder injury and will not help his team in the quarterfinals of the competition.
“I have a slight shoulder injury which means I won’t be able to play in Davis Cup,” said the 36-year-old Scot, who is ranked 42nd in the ATP rankings.
The 2023 season, in which he reached the third round of the Australian Open and the round of 16 of the Masters 1000 in Canada, ended for Murray.
“I’m disappointed that I won’t be able to be part of the team, but now I’m focused on my recovery and preparation for the new season,” Andy Murray said, according to News.ro.
