Ronnie O’Sullivan qualified for the quarter-finals of the China International Snooker Championship with a 6-2 victory over world number one Anthony McGill on Wednesday.

Ranked 19th in the world, McGill took the lead in the table first and the balance remained at 2-2.

That’s when Ronnie took control of the game and won the next four frames. A 6-2 win is beyond doubt as O’Sullivan is the better player.

The game was played under the best system of 11 frames.

The international championship takes place from November 5 to 12 at the Tianjin People’s Stadium and has a total prize fund of £825,000. The biggest break was made by Ryan Day (147). The champion of the last edition (2019) is Judd Trump.

Quarter-finals are awarded £21,500, semi-finals £32,000, finalist £75,000 and grand champion £175,000.
