Saudi Arabia is ready to host the World Cup 2034 both in summer and in winter

According to lefigaro.fr, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation has announced that the final tournament for more than 11 years can be organized both in summer (as it has been for decades / minus the last World Cup in Qatar) and in winter (following the model of last year’s competition).

FIFA has announced that Saudi Arabia is the only candidate, and now all that is missing is official confirmation from the world forum to announce the host of the 2034 World Cup.

“We are ready to face all possibilities. There are many new technologies that can be used to cool stadiums or add air-conditioning systems, not to mention that many cities in the kingdom enjoy a very pleasant atmosphere in the summer,” Yasser Al-Mishehal, chairman of Saudi football.

Saudi Arabia’s bid comes just a year after the 2022 final tournament in Qatar. It was the first World Cup held outside the summer (held in November and December).

In the Persian Gulf region, summer temperatures can reach 50 degrees Celsius, which makes it very difficult to organize a football World Cup during this period.
