
Angelique Kerber, the former leader of the WTA and the owner of three Grand Slam titles, announced that she will return to the court at the age of almost 36 years (she will turn this age on January 18).

The last tournament in which Angelique Kerber participated was Wimbledon 2022, when she was eliminated in the 1/8 finals by Elise Mertens. Then the former WTA leader announced that she was pregnant and gave birth on February 25 (a girl, Liana).
Last year, Kerber said she wanted to reach the Paris Olympics, and the German will start her season at the United Cup (December 29, 2023 to January 7, 2024), where she will represent her country.
After the mixed team tournament, Angelique will play in the tournament in Adelaide (WTA 500 / January 8-13, 2024), where the organizers have already confirmed the presence of the three-time Grand Slam winner.

Who is Angelique Kerber?
Angelique Kerber climbed to the first place in the WTA ranking on September 12, 2016. The 34-year-old German athlete has won 14 WTA titles and currently has 673 wins and 363 losses in her career. He collected $31,886,468 in tennis prizes alone.
