Jenson Brooksby has been banned for 18 months after failing three doping tests

On October 10, the independent tribunal heard the player and witnesses, including the official responsible for the athlete’s second missed anti-doping control.

Brooksby pleaded guilty to the first and third tests he missed, but contested the second missed test.

The tribunal concluded that in Brooksby’s case the degree of culpability for failing the exam was high. The Anti-Doping Official took all reasonable steps to locate the Athlete for the second Test, and the Athlete was negligent in failing to appear for the Test within the time limit.

Brooksby decided to take a temporary suspension shortly after learning of the allegations, so his sanction ran from July 5, 2023, to January 4, 2025.

Jenson missed three anti-doping tests due to tracking issues in a 12-month period starting in April 2022. According to the rules, the maximum penalty in such cases is a two-year disqualification.

The player can appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport within 21 days, writes News.ro.
