The race marshals overturned the result of the race in Austin, and Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were disqualified after the United States Grand Prix of Formula 1. The Briton from Mercedes responded promptly to the decision.
Lewis Hamilton says it was a good weekend despite the suspension
Hamilton (second) and Leclerc (sixth) were disqualified after measurements taken by stewards at the end of the Austin Grand Prix.
The single-seaters of the two failed the measurements, and the decision was harsh: disqualification. Thus, they lost the points earned in the United States Grand Prix in Formula 1.

Multiple world champion Hamilton said, among other things, that while he was disappointed with the stewards’ decision, he wanted to take only positives from this weekend.
Lewis talks about the challenges of the race weekend, which includes a sprint race, but ultimately says he is happy with the new package (upgrades) presented by Mercedes at the US Grand Prix.
“Of course it’s disappointing (that I wasn’t disqualified after finishing second), but it doesn’t affect the progress I made this weekend” – Lewis Hamilton.
“In the end, all this doesn’t matter anymore. Others have done right where we have gone wrong. We can’t play by the rules. We have to keep our heads up, learn and come back stronger next weekend” – Toto Wolffhead of the Mercedes team.
The decision will see Lando Norris (McLaren – 3rd) move up to 2nd in the US standings and Carlos Sainz (Scuderia Ferrari – 4th) move up to 3rd.
In addition, Sergio Perez will climb 4th, George Russell 5th, Pierre Gasly 6th, Lance Stroll 7th and Yuki Tsunoda 8th.
