The match between Belgium and Sweden (qualifier for Euro-2024) was interrupted at halftime with a score of 1:1.

UEFA’s decision should be announced on Tuesday, October 17, according to Belgian media.

According to the UEFA protocol, the match will have to be replayed. Sweden have been eliminated from the race to qualify for Euro 2024 and have just points to play for the odds.

The interest is rather on the side of Belgium, considering that the Belgians were playing for the first place and for the place of seeding for the final tournament of Euro-2024.

According to the president of the Swedish Football Association, Fredrik Reinfeldt, there were no discussions on this topic in the first two hours after the match was stopped. “Football is not important in these circumstances,” the official said.

If an agreement is not reached, or if circumstances are not favorable for a return to the field the following day, “the UEFA administration will set a new date”, according to the UEFA 2023 regulation.

Failure to play again will result in forfeiture of results for the team behind the request.

Currently, the Swedes do not want to replay the match and have left the territory of Belgium, News.ro reports.
