On Sunday, Danu Lupu (56 years old) arrived in Romania and surrendered. Authorities were waiting for him at the airport to transport him to the Rakhov penitentiary.
Christy Balaj, president of CFR Cluj, expressed his utter displeasure with the authorities’ treatment of Denuc Lupa, who was handcuffed immediately after he landed from Dubai.
“I saw these images of Denutz Lupa at the airport and I think we are exaggerating. It is not right that we create such differences in Romania and create this terrible show, from my point of view, and treat things differently.
We don’t handcuff some of the people we pick up because they’re a certain age or because they’re likely to have had certain functions when we catch them at a crime scene or when we take them to a penitentiary,” Balai said.
