The Frenchman secured a place in the 1/8 finals, where he will meet Jeffrey John Wolfe (51 ATP).
He defeated Matteo Arnaldi (42 ATP) in the third round with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
The Rolex Shanghai Masters takes place from October 4 to 15 on hard, is part of the ATP Masters 1000 category and has a total prize pool of 8,800,000. The titular champion is Daniil Medvedev (2019). The last editions did not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
