Dănuț Lupu, finally sentenced to 7 months in prison with execution

It will be recalled that the former Romanian player was finally sentenced to 7 months in prison with execution after he was caught several times driving without a license.

Thus, the Court of Appeal of Bucharest upheld the decision of the first court, which in June sentenced Denutz Lupa to 7 months and 10 days in prison.

According to Ghandul, Lupu (56 years old) lost his driver’s license in 2001 after getting behind the wheel drunk.

The former footballer would try to get his driving license again several times, but failed the theory test each time. He was caught driving without a license several times, the last time in June 2022 he was stopped by the traffic police team, which filed criminal proceedings against him and then sent him to court.

In February 2023, the Cornet Court sentenced him to 7 months and 10 days in prison by firing squad, given that he had a previous 6-month suspended sentence, obtained in July 2020 at the Galati Court of Appeal, also for driving without a license.

Lupu, who has been caught driving without a license several times, explained that he was rushing to the hospital.
