On the day he announced his final squads for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Belarus and Andorra, coach Edward Iordenescu wanted to deliver an impressive message to Romania’s athletes as well as the players.

A message full of optimism from the selector Edi Iordenescu – the tricolors call to fight as before

The Romanian football team has two very important games ahead of it in the preliminary group of the European Championship in Germany.

The tricolors will meet Belarus away (October 12, 9:45 p.m.) and Andorra at home (October 15, 9:45 p.m.).

Coach Edward Iordenescu sent a strong message ahead of the matches, assuring the fans of the national team that the team will fight to the end to achieve the goal.

“We approach this action with the same fighting spirit and unity that we have strengthened. We are going through an extremely tight period of a busy schedule, but together we have managed to prove that nothing is too difficult when we are all fully focused on one goal: qualifying for EURO 2024.

In selection, we adhere to the principles that have confirmed our effectiveness. We observed, analyzed and made a decision with full confidence regarding the tricolors, which already form the nucleus with good results for Romania.

I share with you the message with which I am waiting for the tricolor in preparation for the matches with Belarus and Andorra:

We have earned our position through dedication and sacrifice, we have fought and we do not depend on anyone but ourselves! We’re in the qualification places and we won’t lose in the group, but we won’t forget how hard every point was earned, what every second of this campaign meant!

We need to be fully aware and responsible NOW so we don’t delude ourselves that someone with 6 points is waiting for us these days! We took nothing for granted, we won our present, and now we must win our future!

Just as we achieved everything in this campaign, despite early doubts, against opponents who were considered more valuable, overcoming our weaknesses and always getting better, this is how we must play now: with our whole being, every second!

I am convinced that the Romanians will be with us everywhere for the match against Belarus. And on home soil, with Andorra, we will be even stronger with the youngest fans in the stands. Because they are the heart of football and we have a responsibility to offer them an example of performance and reward their love with joy,” said the representative of the Romanian national team, according to FRF.
