
Despite the fact that the Romanian men’s gymnastics team failed to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games, Andrii Muntyan still received tickets to Paris after the World Championships in Antwerp.
According to the Romanian Gymnastics Federation, Muntian was awarded tickets to Paris based on the FIG criterion, according to which the top 8 athletes in the individual classification who did not qualify for the team will compete in next year’s Olympics.
Andriy Muntyan took 30th place in the individual standings, scoring 80.665 points, and will make his second appearance at the Olympics after Rio 2016.
The Romanian team currently has 55 athletes who have qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris, according to News.ro.
Romania’s men’s team failed to qualify for next year’s Olympic Games, finishing 15th after the first day of men’s qualifying at the World Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp.
