
Cluj University got their Romanian Cup group games off to a flying start with a 3-1 win at Steaua Stadium on Thursday.

Ioan Ovidiu Sabau took the game with the second division as seriously as possible, with important players in the first 11.
After two great chances were missed by the hosts, Aleksandru Chipcu opened the scoring in the 27th minute with an elegant free-kick.
Young Philippe Ilier doubled the lead in the 35th minute after a corner kick. Ilieu scored a brace eight minutes after the restart following Vateel’s cross into the net.
“Steaua” reduced the difference in the 65th minute at the expense of former “Cluj” player Aleksandr Boychuk with a wonderful shot from outside the penalty area.
