After an eight-year break, the ATP 250 tournament will return to Bucharest. The competition will have a total prize pool of 600,000 euros and will be organized from April 15 to 21, 2024.
The last ATP 250 event in Bucharest was held in 2016, and Fernando Verdasco was the grand champion (after a final with Lucas Pouille), while the doubles was dominated by the pairing of Romanians Horia Tekeu and Florin Mergea.
The ATP 250 has been Romania’s longest-running sporting event, running 21 times in a row, with the last four editions selling out. The 2016 Bucharest tournament was broadcast on international television in 96 countries, according to the organizers (Cyriaca Foundation) in a press release.
The winner of the 2024 draw will receive 250 points in the ATP singles ranking.
“The venue for the ATP 250 tournament has not yet been determined, the search is underway,” the organizers informed HotNews.ro.
